What Happens After Drug Detox?
The weeks just after detoxification from drugs or alcohol are some of the most important, and most precarious. At Saddleback, our process is to make sure our clients thrive in this period and are set up for lasting recovery.
Clinical Preparation
Clinical preparation at Saddleback Recovery addiction treatment center, for substance use disorder is a way to reorganize a client’s full perspective on life. When a person is put in a place where they are able to better understand themselves and create new habits based on healthy choices, growth will occur.
As well, the ability to overcome a challenge, work with others, communicate, address fear and doubt, all of these things are foundational to the work of recovery. As well, they parallel the skills that a person in treatment will be learning.
The preparation phase includes finalizing all the aspects of the next level of care. During their stay, our clients participate in:
Psycho-Educational Groups: DBT, CBT, Emotional Intelligence, Substance Abuse Education, Trauma, and Grief & Loss
Recovery Groups: Relapse Prevention, Recovery Principles, Refusal Skills, and Practical Sobriety Tools
Experiential Therapies: Meditation, Mindfulness, Expressive Art Therapy, Yoga, Music Therapy, Life Skills, and Nutritional Cooking Classes
